Tale of a Trailing Spouse

After 9 years and 3 countries, I’m making the transition from expatriate to repatriate. It’s a brand new chapter with new stories to tell! I now come to you from the home of baseball and birthplace of Frank Sinatra— Hoboken, New Jersey.

    Hi Diana!
I found your blog while researching information about Singapore. My husband and I will be moving there next May and yes, I am a trailing spouse in Academia so I am facing leaving my teaching position in Chiago and moving across the waters. I really appreciate your posts especially the ones about the mommies. Let me tell you, I have a 5 month old and have all single friends with no kids. I love it (sometimes the mommy groups are equivalent to the Jr High mean girls lol so I understand and I have stories) I am hoping to continue my career over in Singapore but I am nervous and anxious about meeting people and community as well. If you have any thoughts or advice even in your short time there I would love to hear about it. I hope we can stay in touch when we actually move over there and I promise I am a fun mommy! lol

    Grace and Peace,

    Michelle
